I'm a self-indulgent crashing bore. But I also have some bad points. I am a single mother with two boys, one gifted the other special.. some days I'm not sure which is which and this keeps things interesting. I like to read things that make me laugh, cry or think. This last gets harder with the passing years, but i can still laugh and cry as easily as a child. I am totally a smart arse and often need to remind myself of the wise words of Elwood P Dowd in the movie Harvey.. "..in this world one must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well for years I was smart, and I recommend pleasant."

Hi there dear Carolyn, thank you so much for your lovely comment to my 'Waiting' article (still hesitant to call my stuff 'poetry'....lol) Guess what, I have only yesterday watched the 'Princess Bride' and loved it !!! The movie is now 21 years old and still brilliant !!! I hate waiting indeed, patience is not my virtue, trust me !!!
My waiting to hear from a dear friend is over since I heard from her today, thank GOD !
I am so relieved.........

Hi Carolyn, I have replied to your question on the Help Forum, I am pasting it here as well.

I have actually talked to gather support after this and got their response. I am pasting it below.

Canadians (and other non US residents) are not eligible (yet) to redeem their Gather points, or for entry into our cash program. For some time now, our finance team has been researching ways to develop our earnings program to include all non-U.S. members as well as U.S. members.

Even though, technically it is possible for a non US resident member to purchase a gift card for a Gather connection within the United States. This is currently not a legal practice. As non US residents, at the moment we can not do anything with our points - this included purchasing gift cards, donating to charities or giving the points to anyone else.
